Budget apps want your bank login. This doesn't: download your statement as CSV, run one command, and see what you spent on groceries, eating out and subscriptions each month. Teach it your own categories in a simple rules file.

Good to know

• Python 3.8+ (free). Works offline.
• Self-test passes on Linux with Python 3; standard library only. Windows/macOS steps are in the guide but were not tested by me.
• Bank export formats vary; if a file is skipped, rename its columns to Date, Description, Amount. Not financial advice.
