How Etsy fees work for digital downloads
- Listing fee: $0.20 USD. Charged when you publish and when the listing renews. A digital download listing with several in stock renews automatically after each sale, so expect $0.20 per sale.
- Transaction fee: 6.5% of the price you show, plus any shipping and gift wrap. Outside the US it is charged on the price including any tax you are responsible for.
- Payment processing depends on where your bank account is: for example 3% + $0.25 (US), 4% + £0.20 (UK), 4% + €0.30 (most euro countries), 4% + 2.50 NOK (Norway). It is charged on the total the buyer pays, including tax.
- Extras that can apply: Offsite Ads 15% (12% for shops with $10,000+ in sales in the last 365 days, max $100 per order), 2.5% currency conversion, and a regulatory operating fee in some countries (for example UK 0.48%, France 1.14%, Italy 0.80%, Spain 0.88%, Canada 0.50%).

What are Etsy's fees for a digital download?
Three fees apply to almost every digital download sale: the $0.20 USD listing fee (a listing with several in stock renews for $0.20 each time one sells), the 6.5% transaction fee on the item price plus any shipping or gift wrap, and the payment processing fee, which depends on the country of your bank account (for example 3% + $0.25 in the US, 4% + £0.20 in the UK, 4% + €0.30 in most euro countries). Offsite Ads, currency conversion and a regulatory operating fee can come on top.
How much do I keep from a $10 digital download on Etsy?
For a US seller with no Offsite Ads, about $8.60: $0.20 listing fee, $0.65 transaction fee and $0.55 payment processing ($0.30 + $0.25), so about $1.40 in fees. This is an estimate based on Etsy's published fees checked 31 Oct 2026.
Is the listing fee charged again when a digital download sells?
Yes, if the listing has more than one in stock, which is normal for digital downloads. Etsy automatically renews it for $0.20 after each item sells. Listings also expire and renew every four months.
When do Offsite Ads fees apply?
Only when a sale comes from an Etsy ad on another website. The fee is 15% of the order total, or 12% if your shop made $10,000 or more in the last 365 days, and never more than $100 per order.
